Fete 2007

(July 14, 2007)
Just to report that we were extremely lucky with the weather yet again!  The garden and paddock were packed with things to do.  More willing helpers 'came on board' this year - for which we were very grateful.  For the first time we sold out of teas - except for a tray or two of filled rolls, which the helpers soon ate.

Once the last visitor had left, a happy, willing band of workers set about dismantling the stalls, loading up the tables and chairs, crockery and cutlery to return it all to the village hall.  Gazebos came down and rubbish was cleared.  The reward was trifle and cups of tea in the kitchen.  When the dust had settled, a total of about £3000 was raised.  A new record.

It is hoped that all helpers will come to the 'After Fete Bash' on Friday 3rd August at 7.30 pm.  This event is held at the fete venue where we hope to chat over successes, failures, and improvements for the future.  Please bring something to eat/drink and share.   A suggestions box will be available for your comments!
