Midnight Mass 11.30 pm

(December 24, 2007)
Midnight Mass for the Burrough Hill Benefice will be held in St Swithun's Great Dalby this year.  This service is always special - the church is decorated with Holly and Ivy, and with lots of candles.  The church is also full of local people - villagers, visitors, friends and families.

Our church is generously supported by villagers through our Funding Programme - which is in its 4th year.  We are about to re-launch the scheme to update the system.  Without this support we would not be able to keep our church open.

Our Mission statement many years ago, was to 'keep the church going for whoever might need it at whatever time' - or words to that effect.  Services such as Midnight Mass show us we are doing the right thing.  Funerals, Weddings and Baptisms also show us that we need to 'be there'.  A very small group of people support the church for the regular services - but we live in a world where there are so many other calls on our time, and we understand the situation.

So we very much hope to see you on Christmas Eve at 11.30 pm!  Midnight will be too late!
